Announcement of LSoM Leaders

LSoM (Last Sunday Of The Month) 3/5/10 km Runs was the first initiative taken up by AFSF Foundation in 2016 to promote running as a fitness & family activity on every Last Sunday Of the Month ( LSoM ) in our very own City Satara. This initiative got hundreds of families into running and gaining confidence by starting with a 3k run and going for a longer distance by and by. The best part is kids enjoy this LSoM Runs with their parents & Our caring volunteers make sure of their safety in the best possible way. We have consistently been doing this wonderful LSoM runs with approx 400 runners every month since then, Our Volunteers do the route support & all participants get finishers badges & breakfast after the run. An excellent part is it’s absolutely free for all runner.

We are proud to announce that our young leaders Mr. Kalpesh Gujar & Mr. Pankaj Rathi have taken up the responsibility & will be heading this AFSF LSoM initiative from now on.

He is an alumnus of J. J. School of Arts, Mumbai. After intense theatre for four years in English,
Marathi and Hindi, his career started to take shape in television.

He played varied roles such as that of young Muslim lawyer Salim in love with a local Muslim woman on 9 Malabar Hill on Zee TV, a press reporter in Farz on DD Metro, an underworld don who deals with drugs in Swabhiman on DD, and many other roles on different channels.

Sandeep’s career in films began with his first role in the movie Mammo (1994) directed by the legendary Shyam Benegal. After acting in several other movies, Shwaas (2004), directed by Sandip Sawant, but Sandeep’s performance in the spotlight. After which he did a lot of Hindi & Marathi Films, also started with his own production house.

Joined Police force in the year 1998, after initial training in MPA Nashik and Probation in Nagpur posted as SDPO, later became Additional District SP (Supervision over the performance of almost 2700 police officers), which includes duties of supervision over crime detection and investigation which results into successful prosecution at Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. Then Took charge as Superintendent of Police, Special Action Group / Head, Jungle Warfare Training Center, Nagpur.

Also worked as an Official Spokesperson (Public Relation Officer ) for The Commissioner of Police, Mumbai .

Since June 2016 worked as The Deputy Commissioner of Police. Anti-Terrorism Squad. Also worked with United Nations Peace Keeping mission in Haiti for one year.(2017)

Medals/Decorations/Prizes:

Director General’s Insignia for commendable service during tenure of service in 2014 by Director General of Police, Maharashtra State
Awarded with the Special Service medal for working in Maoist (Extremists) affected area for two years.
Awarded with UN’s Peace Keeping Medal.
Has participated and contributed in various National and International seminars and Police Science Congresses on various Police subjects with a view to introducing good practices in Policing.

Wing Commander Zuber Shaikh (Retd) is a military aviator who has around 3000 flying hours of rich experience with the Indian Air Force. A Qualified Flying Instructor who has flown in the highest battlefield zones like Siachen Base Camp, Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) airstrip, Arunachal Pradesh, etc.

He represented Indian Air Force in the United Nations mission at DR Congo, Africa in 2011, where he was selected as a ‘Blue Beret’ soldier and served as a Military Aviation Officer at Goma, DR Congo.

He is a motivator, mentor & instructor at the National Defence Academy.

An influencer, passionate about long-distance running, cycling and triathlons. He has participated in seven full marathons, 12 half marathons and numerous running and cycling events & several podium finishes. He has cycled from Manali to Khardungla Top (Leh) on his mountain cycle covering a few of the highest motorable passes in the world.

He is a fitness enthusiast and an adventurer who strongly believes in the motto ‘Anima Sana In Corpore Sano’, which translates to, ‘A Sound Mind in a Sound Body’.
